A Display Energy Certificate (DEC) and Advisory Report are legally required for all buildings with a total useful floor area of over 1,000 square metres occupied by public authorities and by institutions providing a public service.
DECs are based on the actual amount of metered energy used by the building or part of the building over a 12 month period. The advisory report includes advice and suggestions on improvements to save energy and costs.
